Anna Marie's Story
In August 1969 I married Bill Harshman; we lived in Butler until 1971, when we moved to Washington, PA. While living there we were blessed with our five children, all born in the 70s. In 1982 we moved to Tyrone, PA, between Altoona and State College.
Most of my work until 1987 had been as a legal secretary, in all three counties in which we lived. But since 1987 I have worked at Penn State University's main campus. ology Department, for the Particulate Materials Center, and in Technology Transfer. That's where I am now, helping to bring companies to campus for collaborative research. I am known as the Administrative Assistant for the Industrial Research Office.
Our grown children include Becki Maurio (b.1972), who lives near Baltimore; Bill (b.1973), who died of natural causes in 2005; Jason (b.1975), who lives in Allentown; Rachel Wiggins (b.1978), who lives in Fort Worth; and Sarah (b.1979), who lives in Tyrone.
I still enjoy reading and music.
